GROW towards your Goal

FREE guide on how to achieve any of your goals step by step

The GROW model is a widely used coaching framework that helps individuals set and achieve goals effectively. It consists of four key stages:

  • Goal – Defining clear, specific, and meaningful objectives.
  • Reality – Exploring the current situation, challenges, and resources.
  • Options – Brainstorming possible solutions and strategies.
  • Way Forward – Committing to concrete actions and accountability.

This structured approach promotes self-reflection, problem-solving, and personal growth, making it a valuable tool in coaching.

Goals:  Formulating the Ultimate End Result.

  • What do you want to achieve? What will be the best result?
  • When do you want to achieve it? Give yourself a certain timeframe
  • Imagine now, that you already achieve it. How does it look like? How do YOU look like? Where are you? Who is there next to you?
  • What can you tell to yourself on that day? How do you feel?
  • What criteria / indicators show that you achieved your goal?
  • How other people can see / understand that you achieved your goal?

Reality: what are you having available right now?

  • What resources are you already having to achieve this goal?
  • What support you are already having? (name all the knowledge, clients base, experience, network, funds, time etc)
  • How your understanding of all the above – mentioned resources influences your goals?
  • What are you already doing that brings you closer to your goals?
  • What are you doing that appears to be an obstacle on the way to your goals? What challenges are you creating for yourself right now? How do you know that it is like that?
  • On the spectrum from the very Beginning to the Final Result, where do you find yourself right now? (put yourself on the Scale from 1 to 10)

Options: broadening the perspective

  1. What kind of opportunities to go further do you have right now?
  2. What can you add? Who can you talk to? What can you learn? Do you need to attend / visit some place?
  3. What is needed to overcome the current obstacles?
  4. How can you use your previous experience?
  5. What are you doing good already? What need to be strengthened?
  6. What options to speed up the process  do you have ? list at least 3. Which one will be the the most effective?
  7. What kind of support do you need? (people, resources, funds, knowledge)

Wrap up / First Steps: where can you start?

  • Have a look on everything you wrote. What is needed to be done in the immediate future? What is the most important step to take?
  • What do you need to add to your planning? (2-3 options)
  • What will be the very first step? When are you going to male it?
